Your valuable input is essential for our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

Hand Hygiene Protocol:

Practicing excellent hand hygiene is crucial for preventing infections. Please remember to clean your hands thoroughly:

  • Before touching or eating food.
  • After using the bathroom.
  • After handling trash.
  • After changing a diaper.
  • After visiting someone who is ill or interacting with a pet.
  • When your hands are visibly dirty, use soap and warm water, rubbing vigorously for at least 15 seconds, ensuring you clean palms, fingernails, between fingers, and the back of your hands.
  • If your hands do not appear dirty, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, rubbing thoroughly until dry.

Fall Risk Prevention:

At Bekaa Hospital, your safety is paramount. Upon admission, your nurse will assess your fall risk and then explain all the necessary patient fall precautions instructions to you. This assessment will be re-evaluated every six hours to ensure your care plan is continuously adapted to your needs.

To ensure your well-being, please always use your nurse call system for assistance whenever you need to get out of bed or have any concerns regarding your mobility. Working together, we can maintain a safe environment for your recovery.

Non-Smoking Policy:

Bekaa Hospital and all its facilities are completely tobacco-free. Tobacco use, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is strictly prohibited anywhere on hospital property. If you are a smoker and would like assistance in becoming tobacco-free, please inform your nurse, who can provide resources to help you with smoking cessation.

Patient Identification Process:

For your absolute safety and to ensure the most accurate care, an identification band will be applied to your wrist immediately upon admission to any unit of our hospital. This band is crucial for the safety of every aspect of your care, from diagnosis to treatment.

All members of your healthcare team will diligently check this band before any procedure, medication administration, or treatment is provided to ensure your correct identification. For these critical safety reasons, please do not remove your identification wristband for any reason during your hospitalization.

  • Allergies: If you have any known allergies, please notify your doctor and nurse immediately. A distinct red allergy band will be applied to your wrist to alert all staff.

Medication Process:

To ensure your safety and effective treatment:

  • Please inform your physician and nurse about all medications you take at home, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, supplements, and herbal remedies.
  • The only medications you are to receive in the hospital are those prescribed by your physician and administered by your nurse.
  • Please do not keep any medications brought from home in your room.  Inform your nurse about any personal medications you have upon arrival.

Pain Management:

You have the right to proper pain management during your hospital stay.

  • We encourage you to report your pain before it worsens and actively ask for pain management options. Our team is dedicated to assessing and effectively managing your pain levels.

During Your Stay: Comfort & Practical Tips

Quiet Time for Healing:

We believe that sleep and rest are essential components of recovery and healing.

To promote a peaceful and conducive environment for all patients, Bekaa Hospital observes a quiet atmosphere in the evenings. Please note that visiting hours conclude at 9:00 PM each evening.

To further support a restful environment, each patient is allowed one family member to stay overnight with them.

We kindly request that minimal noise levels be maintained after 9:00 PM to allow all patients the opportunity for uninterrupted rest.

Your cooperation helps create the best possible healing environment.

Food Services:

Your nutritional needs are an integral part of your recovery. Food is provided by the hospital’s Dietary Department, tailored to your specific medical requirements.

  • For patient safety and dietary control, food should not be brought inside the hospital from external sources.
  • Our dedicated dietitian will visit you as needed to provide education about your prescribed diet and discuss any specific dietary requests related to your medical case.

Questions and Communication:

We encourage open communication with your healthcare team.

  • Consider preparing a written list of questions you would like to ask your doctor or nurse to ensure all your concerns are addressed.

  • If you have unanswered questions, you can also inform your nurse, who will contact your healthcare professional to provide further assistance.

On Your Discharge Day

To ensure a smooth transition back home and to accommodate new patients, we aim for discharges to be completed before noon on your discharge day. On this important day, please ensure:

  • You fully understand your discharge home instructions and feel confident that you will be able to follow them at home. Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification.

  • You know what medications are prescribed for home, their purpose, dosage, and when you should take them.

  • You have clarified any follow-up appointments or next steps in your care plan.

Your successful recovery is our priority, and clear discharge planning is a key part of that.
